Nicolai Bergmann's ASAMA KUZANBO draws the curtain on the 5th anniversary of its opening with a floral installation created by the artist himself that resonates with the nature of Mount Asama.
To commemorate the 5th anniversary of its opening on Sunday, April 26, 2026, a special floral design project by world-renowned floral artist Nicolai Bergmann was implemented. The concept for this collaboration and other projects to mark the 5th anniversary of the opening of the hotel is "Asama, where the sky, the mountains, and the five senses come alive, and beyond. and we would like to express our gratitude to all of you.
For this project, Nicolai Bergmann himself visited the site and created floral installations in several spaces, including guest rooms, lounges, and restaurants, while directly feeling the space and natural environment of the facility. The result is a special spatial presentation that can only be seen here, in harmony with the majestic nature of Mount Asama.
■Exclusive floral designs inspired by natural spaces
For the decoration, purple was chosen as the base color to reflect the monotone-based interior of the facility. By combining powerful branches, warm wooden vessels, and Nicolai Bergmann's original Arita porcelain vessels, we sought to harmonize the flowers, the vessels, and the space. The design is integrated throughout with the natural environment of Mount Asama that surrounds the facility.
■Exquisite manual production process
In the creation of the work, flowers such as hydrangeas are wired one by one, and leaves are looped and arranged with tweezers, creating a life-like design. About 80% of the production process is spent in preparation at the Tokyo studio, and the final design is created on site to suit the space.
■Limited edition flower box featuring the silhouette of Mt.
A specially designed flower box was also produced to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the opening. The sides of the box are decorated with a design featuring the silhouette of Mt. Asama, expressing the connection with nature not only through the flowers, but also through the entire package. Approximately 20 different types of flowers and leaves were used in the artwork, which was designed with an emphasis on round forms that look beautiful from any angle.
Message from Nicolai Bergmann Flowers & Design
Preserved flowers, which are specially processed fresh flowers, were used for this decoration. When properly managed away from light and dust, preserved flowers can retain their beauty for several years, and in some cases can be enjoyed for more than 10 years. The design created in the quiet atmosphere of ASAMA KUZANBO is an installation that will remain in your mind along with the memories of your stay.
