Nikolai Bergman Flowers & Design, our partner for this collaboration, is a floral design brand founded by floral artist Nikolai Bergman.
Through unique floral designs that blend Scandinavian style with the Japanese attention to detail, we bring a sense of wonder and delight to our customers. Our signature Flower Box will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2025, and we have been launching various collaborations to mark the occasion. It is now widely recognized as a classic choice for floral gifts.
For this project, Nikolai Bergman visited the site in person to develop the design concept while experiencing the facility’s spaces and natural surroundings firsthand.
We have created floral installations in several spaces, including the "Polaris" Presidential Suite, the lounge, and the restaurant "Tenku Dining". The design harmonizes with the majestic natural surroundings of Mount Asama.
The striking purple color scheme was chosen to complement the facility’s monochromatic architecture. By combining bold branches and wooden vessels with original Arita ware pieces from Nikolai Bergman Flowers & Design, a space has been created where nature, architecture, and flowers harmonize.

In the concept room created to commemorate our 5th anniversary, preserved flowers made from approximately 20 different varieties adorn the space.
Designed with an eye toward harmonizing with the surrounding natural environment, the space offers a view of Mount Asama.
In the creation of these pieces, the designs are crafted through a series of meticulous, hand-crafted steps, such as wiring individual flowers like hydrangeas and shaping the leaves into loops before arranging them with tweezers.
In addition, the pieces feature approximately 20 different types of flowers and leaves. Each one is carefully crafted with a focus on a rounded form that looks beautiful from every angle.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the installation blends seamlessly into the Polaris space while exuding a unique presence.
The preserved flowers used in this arrangement are fresh flowers that have undergone a special treatment. By keeping them away from light and dust and caring for them properly, they can retain their beauty for several years, and in some cases, they can be enjoyed for over 10 years.
Because it can be incorporated into spaces where fresh flowers are difficult to display—such as bookshelves and bathrooms—its potential for interior design is expanding. Born from the serene atmosphere of ASAMA KUZANBO, this design harmonizes with the natural surroundings of Kitakaruizawa, creating an installation that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.

To enjoy mountain climbing in comfort, it is important to select clothing appropriate for each season's climate. On high elevation mountains such as Mt. Asama and Mt. Yatsugatake, the temperature difference from the base of the mountain and changes in weather must also be taken into consideration. Here are some tips on clothing and equipment for each season (spring, summer, and fall).
Spring (April-May)
Spring is a pleasant time for hiking in the mountains, but lingering snow can be seen until mid-April in higher elevation areas. Since the trails can be muddy and icy in some areas, it is safe to carry waterproof shoes and chain spikes. In the mornings and evenings, temperatures can drop close to 0°C (32°F), so we recommend wearing clothing that can be adjusted by layering with a fleece or lightweight down jacket.
Summer (June-August)
Even in the highlands, the sun is strong and temperatures can exceed 25°C during the day. Wicking innerwear, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are essential. Insect repellent is also important as the course passes through grassy and marshy areas. Because of the possibility of thunderstorms in the afternoon, it is best to finish your activities in the morning. Always carry lightweight rainwear.
Autumn (September to November)
Autumn, with its beautiful autumn foliage and clean air, is a comfortable season for mountain climbing. However, from October onward, the mornings and evenings become even colder, with temperatures dropping to near freezing. Be sure to pack a windbreaker, down jacket, gloves, and a knit hat to protect yourself from the cold. Especially from November onward, you need to watch out for the first snow and frost.

The Sengataki Seseragi Path is a hiking course along a mountain stream that connects Sengataki Falls, with a drop of approximately 20 meters, to the Sengataki Parking Lot. The trail is approximately 2.5 km round trip, with a height difference of about 80 m. It takes about 60 minutes for an adult to make the round trip. The trail is surrounded by trees, and you will hear the refreshing sounds of rustling trees and running water. Why not relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city? The trail is well-maintained, but be sure to wear sneakers or other footwear with a firm footing.

Koasama (小浅間山), located to the east of Mount Asama (浅間山), is a spot where trekking can be easily enjoyed. Ko-asama is 1,655 meters high, but it takes only about 60 minutes to reach the summit from the trailhead. The magnificent view of Mt. Asama from the summit is sure to make your trip memorable. The Yamba Bungy is a thrilling experience that involves plunging from the parapet of a 45-meter-high bridge into the river. 494 meters long, the bridge is a symbol of the Yamba Dam, and its size adds to the thrill of the ride. The size of the bridge also adds to the thrill of the bungee ride. For safety reasons, participants must be at least 15 years old and weigh between 40 and 105 kg. Participants can choose between the regular bungee ride and the "water touch" ride, where they can touch the surface of the water with their hands. The Yamba Nyagaten-go is an activity using the dam lake of the Yamba Dam, which was completed in March 2020. Visitors can board an amphibious vehicle and tour the area around the dam from both land and on the lake. The ride takes about 75 minutes. About 30 minutes of that time is spent on the water. There are five tours a day, but reservations are recommended during busy periods such as summer vacation.

Agatsuma Gorge Rail Bike Agattan is an activity that allows visitors to experience riding on the railway tracks on a special bicycle-type trolley.
